Surf Beach House

Proof that Accessible bathrooms can be beautiful too!

"I need my bathroom to cater to my needs... but..."

This was how our conversation started when I first met this beautiful client. In a nut shell, her bathroom was not only tired and ready for a reno, but it also wasn't providing the supports that she needed physically.  She was also struggling to manage the laundry on the lower floor.  What she didn't want - was a bathroom that looked like it belonged in a care facility.

The result?  We stole space from a badly designed cupboard to create a larger footprint so that we had space to bring the laundry upstairs.  We created a stunning walk in shower that could also cater for a walker.  In her bathroom now, my client has a built in seat for days she needs to take it easier. The shower rail itself is actually a disability grab rail - as is the towel rail meaning that she has security of something to grab / hold onto knowing that they are secure and designed to support her.  These rails are all made in Melbourne and adhere to Australian Standards.  The tiles are all slip rated.

Downstairs Renovation

Once the upstairs bathroom renovation was complete including the incorporation of the laundry, we were able to tackle the downstairs bathroom.

Once an enclosed shower doubling in the laundry space, we were able to create a beautiful walk/wheel in shower.  One wall was fully wallpapered to bring that something special and again, all accessible supports were added.  This room is now beautiful and joyful.
